5/2-way valves with NAMUR interface
All valves are supplied without solenoid coil and standard plug; You must order these separately.
A 5/2 NAMUR valve is a pneumatic valve with standard connection for ports 2 and 4, so it can be mounted directly to a NAMUR actuator without additional hoses or couplings. The actuator controls the opening and closing of, for example, ball or butterfly valves.
The NAMUR standard, widely used in process and industrial applications such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals and food, is defined in VDI/VDE 3845.
A 5/2 valve has three connection ports and two switching positions and can be normally closed or normally open:
- Normally closed (NC): In idle mode, ports 1 and 2 are not connected, while ports 2 and 3 are connected to each other, allowing return air to escape. When the valve is switched, air flows from port 1 to port 2 and the vent port is closed.
- Normally Open (NO): In idle mode, ports 1 and 2 are connected to each other, allowing air to escape when supply air is connected to port 1. When switching, port 1 closes and the inlet air can escape through port 3.
