Safety couplings with a nominal width of 8 mm are commonly used in applications where installations or machines need to be protected against damage.
The safety couplings according to ARBO/ISO 6150-B differ from standard couplings in that the coupling plug is first vented before it is fully disconnected. This reliably prevents the whip effect that may occur with standard couplings.
