Choosing and ordering the right solenoid valve

A solenoid valve is an electromechanical component that controls the flow of a medium by opening or closing a passage. Correct selection is essential to prevent malfunctions, wear or damage. When making your choice, consider the following factors:

1. Application specifications
Determine which medium you want to control (air, water, gas or oil) and take into account operating pressure, temperature and environmental conditions. Each solenoid valve has a specific IP protection class and a defined temperature range. Also check the correct voltage and current ratings.
